A BILL to extend the time for the City of Wheeling, Ohio County,
West Virginia, the Village of Bethlehem, Ohio County, West
Virginia, the City of Benwood, Marshall County, and the City
of McMechen, Marshall County, West Virginia, to meet as
levying bodies for the purpose of presenting to the voters
of each jurisdiction an election on the question of
continuing the additional levy for the Ohio Valley Regional
Transportation Authority, from the third Tuesday of April
until the last Thursday in May, one thousand nine hundred
ninety-four.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
CITY OF WHEELING, OHIO COUNTY, VILLAGE OF BETHLEHEM, OHIO COUNTY,
CITY OF BENWOOD, MARSHALL COUNTY, AND CITY OF MCMECHEN,
MARSHALL COUNTY, MEETING AS LEVYING BODIES EXTENDED FOR
ELECTION ON THE QUESTION OF CONTINUING THE ADDITIONAL LEVY
FOR THE OHIO VALLEY REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY.
§1. Extending time for the City of Wheeling, the Village of
Bethlehem, the City of Benwood and the City of McMechen tomeet as levying bodies for election on the question of
continuing the additional levy for the Ohio Valley
Regional Transportation Authority.
Notwithstanding the provisions of article eight, chapter
eleven of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred
thirty-one, as amended, to the contrary, the City of Wheeling,
Ohio County, the Village of Bethlehem, Ohio County, the City of
Benwood, Marshall County, and the City of McMechen, Marshall
County, are hereby authorized to extend the time for each of
these governing bodies to meet as levying bodies, setting the
levy rate and certifying their actions to the state tax
commissioner from the third Tuesday in April, until the last
Thursday in May, one thousand nine hundred ninety-four, for the
purpose of submitting to the voters of each jurisdiction the
question of continuing an additional levy for the Ohio Valley
Regional Transportation Authority.
